This Program of Study outlines the understanding of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias caregiving, such as but not limited to, promoting dignity, independence, individuality, privacy and choice; client’s rights and principles of self-determination; care of clients with physical, cognitive, behavioral and social disabilities; and effective communication.

The Goal:

To provide learners the knowledge that focus on providing care to clients with dementia. Learners will examine various forms and stages, study their symptoms, causes, and how they affect the lives of those who must live and care for them. Learners will also gain a range of skills, strategies, and tips, such as communication techniques and behavior management, to provide a more personalized and effective care.
