Matthew A. Collura was everything you hope to have in a brother — someone who cares for others, fights for what is right, has impeccable integrity, and above all else inspires others without effort. Matthews Healthcare Education was created in 2008 to honor Matthew A. Collura, a caring young man who died in 2002; a one-of-a-kind training program that, like Matthew himself, embodied everything that was good about people. 

Like Matthew, we fight for what’s right and help build stronger communities. That’s why Matthews Healthcare Education was started.
We believe everyone deserves quality healthcare, so we train caregivers who truly care about the people they serve. Why? Because Matthew himself cared for people, he would fight for what is right, his integrity was beyond reproach, and he inspired others. As such, so do we. Don’t believe us? Our program was the first of its kind to be approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education — a great honor.
